Our Arbroath hot smoked salmon fillets are a revelation! Expertly hot smoked to give a firm yet juicy texture with a sweet and mild smokey taste.

Hot smoking cooks and smokes the fish at the same time. E&O Fisheries in Arbroath use a traditional smoke kiln and beech wood to give his bestselling hot smoked salmon fillets their distinctive taste and aroma.

They expertly select their farmed salmon from the icy waters of Shetland before cooking/smoking the fish for approximately 30 - 40 minutes, depending on the size of fish and dryness of the wood.

Straight from the kiln, the salmon changes from translucent pink to golden brown. The heady aroma is a delight. When the salmon is hot smoked to perfection, the juicy flakes of cooked salmon are coral and opaque inside. Sweet, juicy with a subtle smokey aftertaste, an absolute delight!

Our hot smoked salmon fillets arrive with you ready to eat in vacuum packed with a shelf life of up to 14 days.

Once opened they should be refrigerated and consumed within 3 days.

This is the perfect recipe for a speedy midweek dinner. It’s so quick you have dinner on the table in 15 mins. Arbroath Hot Smoked Salmon comes ready-to-eat as the hot smoking process cooks the salmon resulting in the most nutritious fast food ever.

This recipe is also very versatile. It suits any pasta from tagliatelle to fresh gnocchi. Any green vegetable works as long is it can be cooked quickly by sautéing. I’ve tried garden peas, shredded cabbage, and long stemmed broccoli, all with equal success.

Ingredients: Serves 4

Arbroath Hot Smoked Salmon (1 fillet of 400g)

Tagliatelle, Dried (500g/17ozs)

Spring Onions, chopped (4)

Kale or Cavolo Nero, shredded (large handful)

Crème fraîche (250ml)

Lemon (1 or 2 depending on citrus preference)


Rapeseed oil or butter

Parsley, Chopped


  1. Add the salt to boiling water. Add the pasta and boil 10 mins.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, add the spring onions and kale to heavy bottomed frying pan with oil or butter and sauté for 3 mins, then pop on a lid and turn down the heat. Allow the green veg to steam away nicely for another 3 mins or so.
  3. Add the crème fraîche to the veg and stir 2 mins. Add lemon zest (best using a micro-grater) and lemon juice.
  4. Strain the pasta and add the pasta to the pan and mix.
  5. Flake the Arbroath Hot Smoked Salmon into the pan and mix gently to warm through then serve with a sprinkling of parsley.

Quick cheap recipe for you to try with your hot smoked salmon, it's a huge hit in out house and it's a great alternative to 'heavy rice dishes' as your bulking it with healthy lentils.
Quick smoked salmon kedgeree - serves 4, freezer friendly and great hot or cold, ideal for picnics and office/work lunch and so quick to make (15mins max)
1 onion, peeled and finely chopped
400g long-grain rice
100mls fish stock
300g canned green/puy lentils - drained and rinsed
300g hot-smoked salmon flaked ( I use 2)
A pinch of tumeric
2tsp mild curry powder
4 boiled eggs - halved or quartered to garnish
Fresh parsley, to garnish (optional)

Stir fry onion on medium heat for 4mins
Turn heat to high add COOKED rice and stock, stir fry for 4mins
Add lentils, salmon, turmeric and stir fry for another 4mins
Remove from head, add Eggs.

2. We Can Leave in a Safe Place at Your Home

Just let us know in the Delivery Instructions where you’d like us to leave your box. Our cheery couriers are experts in deliveries to sheds and garages. Somewhere cool and dark is best. Most of our customers choose this option and you must give us a safe place to leave your goods if we are delivering to your home address.

3. We Can Deliver to Your Neighbours

“Neighbours, everybody needs good neighbours”. Do you have a good neighbour who would give a home to your fresh box? Perfect, just let us know in the Delivery Instructions. Goods can are best left in their box until you collect them from your neighbour.

Change of plan and you won’t be around on the day of delivery?

If the goods have been dispatched, our courier will contact you on the day of the delivery. If the goods haven't been dispatched, please contact us on 01241 830 693.

Don’t worry if you aren’t available to pop your fresh goodies in the fridge straight away, our super duper Wool Cool packaging keeps everything nicely chilled for up to 4 days (not that we'll need it!).
