Founded as a family business in 2011 with the ethos of creating a sustainable product from the Hebrides whilst making the most of what the natural surroundings had to offer, Hebridean Sea Salt harvest their salt to exacting standards. A small team of salt makers work on the banks of remote and stunning Loch Erisort on the wild Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. They use simple methods to hand harvest Hebridean sea salt, using only time and heat to create a fantastic pure white flaky salt that melts in the mouth - good enough to be used in the finest kitchens in the country.
Most table salts are highly processed and laden with anti-caking agents (some sea salts use anti-caking agents as well) and are usually stripped of their naturally occurring trace elements.
Hebridean Sea Salt, on the other hand, is a pure, natural, unrefined salt that retains over sixty naturally occurring trace elements such as potassium, calcium, magnesium and zinc. All of which are essential for good health and wellbeing.
